Overview

This tutorial shows how to setup and run the rocon app manager in pairing mode so that an external (in this case an android client) can connect and work with the robot. Make sure you have completed the previous tutorial on Pairing Modes.

Pairing

PC

  • Export an appropriate ROS_IP environment variable.
  • Launch the pair of masters as per the previous tutorial on Pairing Modes.

  • Make sure you have ROS_IP/ROS_HOSTNAME configured appropriately.

Android

  • Connect the android to your LAN wireless.
  • Download Robot Remocon from google's play store.

  • Launch the Robot Remocon
  • Scan the network (via zeroconf) for the Cybernetic Pirate.

  • Enter and run either chirp (no associated android app) or talker (simple textview android app).
