About Me
I am currently a postdoc researcher in Matt Reynolds' lab at Duke University. My research interests include robotics, RFID, power scavenging, materials science, and the physics of novel sensing and actuation.
I received my PhD in Fall 2011 from Georgia Tech's Healthcare Robotics Lab, where I studied under the tutelage of Dr. Charles C. Kemp. My thesis was entitled, "Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) for Robot Perception and Mobile Manipulation." I relied very heavily on ROS (and the PR2) to complete my dissertation -- ROS has been a godsend to me and the entire robotics community. I've been using ROS for some time (2008 on EL-E?) -- back in the early botherder days (before it became roscore).
You can learn more about me on my personal homepage:TravisDeyle.com. I also run a popular robotics website for academic and professional roboticists: Hizook.com.
ROS Packages
I've made a number. A short list:
Hardware drivers for Robotis Dynamixel servos. |
|
Hardware drivers for ThingMagic's long-range UHF RFID readers |
|
PR2-Specific UHF RFID behaviors for discovering and locating tagged objects and people |
|
Lots of others in gt-ros-pkg |
