Swiftpoint SM300 Disassembly

The following instructions describe the process of disassembling a Swiftpoint SM300 wireless laptop mouse. One can be purchased here.

The following video shows an example of the SM300 being disassembled.

Instructions

Remove contact pads from bottom of mouse.

Remove 2 screws

(1 at front, 1 at back of mouse, under contact pads)

Remove the top cover

Includes 2 buttons, lights, red grip, swiftpoint label, etc.c. It can be pried off (note 5 plastic mechanical clips. Start with these)

Unclip flexible cable from mount on the board.

Remove screw near rear of mouse.

Un-solder flexible circuit at top rear.

Or cut away, or pull hidden portion off of inside of case.

Pry open clip at top of mouse.

Carefully separate frame with buttons, wheel, battery mount from base.

Battery is glued into slot, and wired to circuit board.

Pry battery free from slot.

Unsolder charging wires from plastic base.

Remove plastic lens from base.

It is just resting in place.

Glue lens to bottom of circuit board

Place a small dot of glue on chip and lens, away from optics.
