ROS Hydro installation instructions

These instructions will install our current release, ROS Hydro Medusa. To install our previous release, ROS Groovy, please see the Groovy installation instructions.

Below are instructions for installing ROS on various operating systems. You may also wish to look at robot-specific installation options instead.

The images at are not created by, or maintained by, OSRF or the ROS developer team. Use at your own risk.

Alternatively, you can use a virtual machine with Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS and ROS Hydro Medusa pre-installed. It is packaged in an .ova file of approx. 3.7GB that you can run on VirtualBox or other virtualization engines.
