Overview

The arbotix_sensors package contains several sensor modules that add additional layers of ROS interface onto the basic structure of arbotix_python.

Nodes

ir_ranger.py

Interface to a Sharp IR range finder. Automatically starts analog stream and publishes a range message derived from the raw stream.

Subscribed Topics

/<name> (arbotix_msgs/Analog)
  • Raw analog stream to convert to range messages.

Published Topics

/ir_range (sensor_msgs/Range)
  • Output range information.

Services Called

/arbotix/SetupAnalogIn (arbotix_msgs/SetupChannel)
  • Service to call to setup the raw analog stream for processing. Will use name, pin, and rate parameters defined below.

Parameters

~name (str)
  • Name for raw analog reading topic.
~pin (int)
  • Analog IO pin to connect to.
~rate (int, default: 10)
  • Rate to publish range message at.
~type (str, default: GP2D12)
  • Type of Sharp IR sensor being interfaced.
